President Donald Trump announced on social media Thursday that Fox News host Jeanine Pirro has been appointed to serve as interim U.S. attorney for Washington D.C.
Previously, Pirro was elected as a judge in New York’s Westchester County Court in 1990 before serving three terms as the county’s elected district attorney.
She joined Fox News in 2006 and co-hosts the network’s show “The Five."
The move comes after Trump pulled his nomination of conservative activist Ed Martin Jr. for the position earlier Thursday.
